GOVERNORS elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will meet today to deliberate on issues concerning the October national convention where the party is expected to ratify its zoning formula and elect new national leadership.

The chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, summoned what he described as “an extraordinary meeting.”

According to a statement issued by the Director-General of the Forum, Honourable Cyril Maduabum, the meeting will discuss strategies to reposition the main opposition party.

The statement informed that Tambuwal summoned the meeting in consultation with his colleagues.

The PDP Governors Forum affirmed, “The meeting will discuss party matters and strategies to reposition the PDP ahead of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party taking place on September 9, 2021.

“The PDP governors further reassure all PDP members, stakeholders and the nation of their commitment, determination and loyalty in the patriotic task of dislodging the failed APC government that has brought nothing but misery and pain to all Nigerians.”
