A group known as Anambra Demand for Soludo (MDS) has urged the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo to come out and contest for the 2021 Anambra governorship elections.
The group made the demands yesterday, during its stakeholder’s meeting held in Awka Anambra state capital.
The convener of the meeting, Chief Peter Nnamdi who spoke through chief Jude Emecheta, a chieftain of the All Progressives Ground Alliance (APGA), said that Soludo is the only person for now that can lead the state to a greater height.
He said the former CBN Governor has creditably done well in Nigeria and the world hence the need to beg him to become the governor of the state.
” Anambra demands that Prof Soludo should accept to serve as governor of the state. There is something special about him that made president Mohammed Buhari appoint him among his economic team, even when he is not a member of All Progressives Congress (APC). We should beg him to come out and do those things, that other people saw in him in the state. He is the best person to replace Willie Obiano in the government house” he said.
Also speaking during the meeting, the secretary of the group, Hon. Afam Enebeli said that the Anambrains are seriously rooting for Soludo to become the governor of the state given track records in education and economic development and others.

According to him, the world is changing from oil to artificial intelligence and Anambra state need somebody with great ideas and vision to key into the changing world.
He said they are begging Soludo to accept to come out and contest for the governorship post because he remains the best for now.
” We have checked the people coming out to become governor in 2021, but nobody is comparable to Soludo. He is the best among the people indicating interest to lead the state. People say he does not give out money but I have seen him making donations and helping the needy in the society, only that he is the kind of person that makes noise about his charity. He is not a flamboyant person” he said.
He also urged the state APGA to give him an automatic ticket to contest for the governor rather than allowing people to waste money in primaries.
Enebeli, called on others aspiring to step down for Soludo because he remains the best person now to govern the state and move it to economic greatness.
“I think honestly, Soludo is the best for now to govern the state, he has worked and still working in various countries of the world developing their economies, people know him very well as a great economic development expert. We want him to come here and develop the state for better”he said.
The women leader of the group, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi, on her part, said that the call by the Anambra for Soludo to become governor was to tap from his wealth of experience in the developing economy.
She added, the people of the state knew that Soludo would fast track the development of the state.
