AHEAD of the 2019 general election, Prince Ike Keke has emerged the Presidential flag bearer of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) at the party’s convention held on Sunday in Abuja.
Prince Keke who was the sole candidate of NNPP among other promises said he would restructure the country if elected and also fight corruption in order to restore the nation’s image globally.
Rolling out his agenda after the whole debates adopted him, Prince Keke said “our administration would be a community of think tanks. We have a clear vision that will transform our nation into the pride and envy of the world in a short time window. Our administration would be a transparent government working with local communities to uproot corruption and promote both community diversity and individuality; strengthening our unity through restructuring our political system through federalism, returning our nation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria that she was originally intended to be”.

He said his government would leverage on the human resource in the country to grow the economy to an enviable height. He also promised to end hunger through a radical agricultural transformation.
“We will enhance and strengthen the weak government institutions. We will maximise the Human Resources of Nigeria, an estimate of 200 million people, an estimate of 50.5 per cent of West Africa and a median age of 18. We will ensure that everyone and every potential count.
“We plan to bring the best advancements and technologies in modern agriculture to help Nigeria become self-sufficient and a globally acknowledged agricultural nation. Our plan would guarantee an abundance of food production, ensure no child goes to bed hungry ever again, end hunger and starvation in Nigeria and beyond and making Nigeria once again the giant of Africa”, he said.
In his remarks, the Deputy National Chairman of NNPP, Alhaji Auwal Aliyu while commending the delegates, said the party’s convention was the most peaceful in the country.
“I want to state without fear of doubt that our convention and our primaries have been the most peaceful in this country, not even a plate was broken in spite of the huge turnout in most of the conventions.
“I want to reaffirm our commitment to bringing the youths into the way of doing things in this country, into the political landscape, and also to encourage women, we said their nomination forms are free, that we did because we want to encourage them, and I believe when we win the election, we will bring in a lot of women on board.
“Other things we shall bring in is new orientation in the way things are done in this country, we believe we need to give a new leadership that will be very sensitive to the yearning and aspirations of our people, a leadership that will be able to everybody along and also be able to come out distinct of previous examples”, Alhaji Aliyu said.
