Speaking at a consultative forum for APC members on “imperative of unity and party loyalty towards good governance in the state” on Wednesday in Ilorin, the APC governorship candidate said that a house divided against itself cannot stand.
Alhaji Abdulrazaq, who commended disposition of co-contestants in the last governorship primary in ensuring that the party achieves proper reconciliation of differences, said that “there can be no better time to address the issue of unity and party loyalty than a time as this.

“The first lap of our electioneering has been concluded and the stage is now set for a robust and engaging election campaign. As we are all aware, things will fall apart when the centre cannot hold. As a party man, I urge us all to embrace unity and togetherness. We must avoid anything that stands as a threat to our unity as a party because we can only achieve our aim of bringing about good governance to our or people if we put heads together, speak in one voice and chart a common course.”
Also speaking, the APC state chairman, Hon Bashir Bolarinwa urged all the contestants that lost during the party
primaries to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship.
“I want to assure all who participated and lost at the primaries that the party is looking into their case. I am sure they are not going to be left out in the scheme of things,” he said.
Bolarinwa, who hailed the stakeholders for putting up the programme, said that “the essence of today’s programme is to actually bring all together as members of one political family. I, therefore, urge all to work for the victory of APC in the state and Nigeria by extension in the 2019 general elections.
“We are here today for a thing of joy; today we are saying goodbye to all forms of differences in our party. Our governorship candidate belongs to all of us. Let me add that even though he has emerged as our governorship candidate, he cannot be more powerful and bigger than the party,” he said.
