The group during a press in Abuja by the National Coordinator, Ike Okoronkwo, said Atiku being a detribalised leader would relate equitably with Nigerians in business and politics.
Okoronkwo, however, said they are campaigning for the transformation of the Nigerian economy and creation of jobs, having in mind that the former Vice President had created jobs through his multi-billion investments across the country.
His words: “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a detribalized leader and a uniting figure, a good bridge builder who bridges gap between tribes, and modest in religion. He relates equitably with Nigerians in business and in politics without greed or sentiments.
“At IamAtikulated2019, we are campaigning for transformation of Nigeria’s economy and employment of youths. And having looked at the profiles of those currently aspiring to contest for president on the platform of PDP in 2019, we have identified Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the only one with the character and content, political will and capacity required to bring the needed transformation that Nigerians are yearning for.
The group also said that the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen and other militants groups’ and the inability of the current government to stop the killings, and the growing unemployment among the youths, epileptic power supply and other negative developments in the country, have become unbearable for average Nigerians.
Okoronkwo, therefore, called on the leadership and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar to ensure he emerges as the Standard bearer of the party for 2019 presidential election.
“We wish to appeal to PDP governors, present and past party leaders, stakeholders and members of the party, and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians, to support the candidacy of His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to ensure that he emerges as the Standard Bearer of the PDP for the 2019 presidential election.
“We wish to use this opportunity to call on Nigerians, both home at home and in diaspora, to vehemently reject President Muhammadu Buhari and his Party, the APC in Nigeria in all future elections,” Okoronkwo, added.
