Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has congratulated the people of the state on the successful crossover to the year 2019.
Governor Ortom in his New Year Message to the people of the state and Nigerians described the year 2018 as a turbulent year for people of the state but said that 2019 is a year of victory for the people of the state.
In Ortom’s New Year message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, urged the people of the state to remain faithful and trust in God for guidance and success in the face of challenges.
He also implored them to sustain their support of his administration and security agencies in peacebuilding, to guarantee the safety of lives and property.
The governor said 2019 is a decisive year for the country as Nigerians prepare to go to the polls to choose their leaders.
He expressed the hope that this year’s elections will be hitch-free, fair and credible, stressing that no form of manipulation of the electoral process will succeed.
“Governor Ortom wishes Benue people a prosperous New Year,” the statement said.
