Fireboy DML took to his Twitter page to announce to fans that his album, ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’ had racked over 100 million streams across digital platforms and such feat from the artiste shows signs of things to come.
On joining YBNL in late 2018, expectations were high for the artiste who must have dreamt of cracking the success formula which worked for Lil Kesh and Adekunle Gold on the record label.
The song became very popular with media houses airing the new song. In an era where up-and-coming artistes pay to have their songs played, the reverse was the case for Fireboy. His song was the toast, played on every music channel and programme.
He followed it up with ‘What if I say’ and it was also received with applause and that removed him from the league of one-song-hit-and-go musicians.
His fan base grew and in no time, had millions of followers across social media. While many were looking forward to more singles from him, he took everyone by surprise announcing the release of his album instead – ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps.’
Barely 60 days after, the musician took to his Twitter handle to announce that his album had amassed more than 100 million streams across all digital platforms.
“My debut album, ‘Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps’ is almost two months old. Since then, we have racked up more than 100 million streams across all digital platforms,” he said.
