The defendants were docked on charges bordering on a joint act, criminal breach of trust and cheating, offences they denied committing.
The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, told the court that one Mbuh Elvis and Mosoh Mantoh reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station on May 18.
He said the defendants deceived the complainants to pay them N3.42million sometime in April, to secure Canadian visas for the complainants, but they dishonestly converted the money to their personal use.
Olanipekun said the offences contravened Sections 79, 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Mohammed Marafa, however, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N3.5 million jointly, with one surety each.
He said the addresses of the sureties must be verified by the prosecutor and adjourned the matter until June 18 for hearing.
