THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said that it would begin enforcing the use of speed limiting devices from October 1. While the organisation might have good intention, going by the high rate of accidents on our roads, I think it is important it doesn’t arrest drivers or impound vehicles for not having the devices.
The truth is that Nigerians are passing through tough economic period now, and forcing them to comply with the speed limiting devices will definitely add to their burden.
The most the FRSC can do is to continue to sensitise the public on the benefits of the devices as it is doing with tyres.
