Zamfara state chairman association of bread sellers, Alhaji Yusuf Usman has disclosed that a hike in the price of flour and other ingredients has forced many Bakery Houses to shut down in the state.
Tribune Online gathered that price of bread has also increased following the hike in the price of ingredients used in the state.
Speaking in an interview, the Zamfara state chairman bread sellers association, who is also the northwest zonal secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Usman lamented the hike in the prices of the bread-making commodities.
It was further learned that the Zamfara State Bakery and Bread Sellers Association has decried the high prices of ingredients.
The association noted with dismay, that most of the bakery houses were shut down due to a hike of ingredients used for making bread.
Usman further lamented that the majority of bread and confectioneries houses have shut down as a result of high prices of relevant bread-making materials.
He noted that the prices of the commodities have continued going high since 2016.
He appealed to the Federal and State Governments to intervene and assist members to keep on with their businesses before the situation becomes completely unbearable.
Usman called on people in the state to continue praying for peace and stability, stressing that, no society would develop without peace.
