Nigerians in Canada were proud of their heritage, value and culture when Yatniy Communications International Incorporation hosted and packaged the 2018 Asa Day colourfully and glamorously at Bronx Park Community Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on November 9, 2018, to the applause of Canadians.
The festivity mood gripped Canada feverishly when Yatniy Communications organised a visit of all the cultural dancing groups, cultural ambassadors, guest artistes which included Mrs Toyin Adegbola (Asewo to lo Mecca); Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin); Oba of Oba-Ile Osun State, Oba Adekunle Ashamu Oyeyemi; Rukayat Lawal, Iya Ibadan, Bose Akinola, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) and others. All of them, dressed in traditional attires, were welcomed by the Premier of Manotoba.
The premier, who was visibly impressed by the colourful and beautiful display of Yoruba cultural values, held a one-on-one discussion with the group who he took several pictures with and commanded Yatniy Communications for showcasing the beautiful image of Nigeria.
“I must be truthful to you all that I am well impressed to see the beauty of Nigeria through your dresses, mannerism and body language. This is a good show of the way Nigerians are,” the premier said.
The Asa Day celebration at the Bronx Park Community Centre was lit up by the elegant cultural performance of Toyin Adegbola, who also joined the students of Yatniy Communications School during performance. The scintillating display endeared the show to the thousands of guests – majorly whites – who were dazzled by the synchronization of songs, the rhythm of the music and dancing styles of the performers.
Stunning the audience was a group of white students of Yatniy Communications who excited the audience with their excellent mastery and recitation of Yoruba songs and poems.
Reinforcing the fact that Yatniy Communications has gone far in spreading the Yoruba cultural-tourism was a Canadian who gave a lecture in impeccable Yoruba where he emphasised why the Yoruba must showcase their culture.
Icing the cake of Asa Day, the Chief Executive Officer, Yatniy Communications, Mr Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye, held a birthday celebration party for Mercy Aigbe on January 5, 2019 in Canada to honour her for consistently identifying with the promotion of Nigerian arts and culture.
Speaking during the party, Mr Oyatoye remarked: “Mercy Aigbe has consistently demonstrated her undying love for the promotion of Nigeria’s cultural values. She is undoubtedly one of the best Nollywood acts who are nationalistic in outlook, humble in interpersonal relationships and culturally sensible. Hence, this birthday party is held today to tell her that people appreciate her conducts.”
