Civil servants and other members of staff of offices around the Federal High Court in Abuja are presently experiencing pains as heavily armed security operatives have taken over the entire environment.
Operatives of the Department of Security Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have blocked the Shehu Shagari way, leading to the court from the Federal Secretariat as court resumes trial of the self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafran (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
There is heavy vehicular traffic around the area as Police and DSS vehicles were used to block the roads leading to the court.
The staff of the Federal Ministry of Justice, located close to the court have to show their Identity Cards to the heavily armed security operatives before they are allowed entrance.
At the gate of the court DSS operatives, acting on the list of journalists submitted to them, denied several other newsmen from entering the premises of the court.
Meanwhile, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, representative of Igbos worldwide, who just arrived was given access into the court.
The Federal Government is prosecuting Kanu before Justice Binta Nyako for terrorism and treasonable felony.
It will be recalled that after over two years of manhunt, the Federal Government rearrested the Biafran leader in Kenya and was immediately brought to Nigeria for the continuation of his trial.
