A mother-of-three has reportedly committed suicide after her husband abandoned her and the children in Enugu state.
This was because her husband left her and the kids because of economic hardship and financial difficulties.
The unfortunate incident occurred last weekend in front of Ogui Police Station in Enugu, where the woman ran into a moving car and died instantly.
Out of depression, she left her children at the police station, took off her clothes, and ran into a car without any clothes on. The car hit her, and she died.
When authorities questioned the eldest child, all that could be gleaned was the father’s departure, described as him “getting lost.” The child, unable to provide further details about their family, town, or residential address, left the police with limited information.
“She could not give any other information about their family, their town, or residential address”, a police source said
Amidst this tragedy, the wife of Enugu State governor, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, stepped forward with compassion.
During an unscheduled visit to Ogui Police Station, where the children were under police care, Mrs. Mbah announced her sponsorship of a scholarship for the three siblings, all under the age of seven, who had lost their parents in such mysterious circumstances.

Touched by the heart-wrenching narrative surrounding the mother’s death, Mrs Mbah pledged to support and nurture the children’s education, promising to see them through from Nursery school to University level.
