The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Steve Karimi, has called on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, saying continuity is essential to consolidating the gains of the administration’s reforms and development programmes.
Karimi, who has consistently advocated support for Tinubu’s second-term bid, said Nigerians should give the President the opportunity to complete and deepen policies and projects initiated under the Renewed Hope administration.
The senator made the call while engaging stakeholders and constituents across the seven local government areas of Kogi West, where he urged them to mobilise support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, infrastructure development remains one of the major reasons the Tinubu administration deserves another term.
He cited major federal road projects affecting Kogi State and neighbouring states, including the Obajana-Kabba-Isanlu-Egbe-Omu Aran-Ilorin and Kabba-Ifaki-Ado Ekiti corridors.
Karimi recently commended the Federal Executive Council for approving funds for the rehabilitation of the roads, noting that the projects would enhance transportation, stimulate economic activities and strengthen connectivity among communities and states.
He argued that projects of such magnitude require policy consistency and continuity to ensure their completion and maximise their long-term benefits.

The lawmaker also said the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration should be given adequate time to achieve their intended objectives.
While acknowledging the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians, Karimi maintained that the reforms were designed to reposition the economy and create a stronger foundation for sustainable growth and development.
He therefore urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the administration, insisting that continuity and stability would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms.
On security, the senator called for stronger collaboration among the Federal Government, security agencies and local communities to tackle insecurity and protect lives and property.
Karimi said his position was consistent with his earlier declaration that the success of President Tinubu and the APC remains a priority ahead of the 2027 elections.
In January 2026, he urged political stakeholders in Kogi State to set aside their differences and work collectively towards Tinubu’s re-election. He also described Tinubu’s re-election as a major political priority for Kogi State, urging the people of the state to unite in support of the President in 2027.
According to the senator, the 2027 election should not be viewed merely as a contest between individuals or political parties, but as an opportunity for Nigerians to decide whether the current administration should be allowed to continue implementing its programmes.
Karimi maintained that where a government has initiated major reforms and infrastructure projects, continuity would provide the stability needed to complete such projects and properly assess their long-term impact.
He is expected to continue engaging stakeholders and constituents across Kogi West as part of efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
Karimi urged Nigerians to assess the Tinubu administration based on its policies, projects and overall direction, saying the President deserves another opportunity to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
For the Kogi West senator, re-electing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 would represent a vote for continuity, consolidation and completion of ongoing development programmes.
