THE President, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Dr Idorenyen Enang, has pledged the nation’s professional marketers readiness to support and partner government, at all levels.
The NIMN boss gave the pledge at the institute’s 2023 annual conference, tagged: ‘The Role of Marketing and Ethics in Nation Building’, held in Abuja, recently.
While urging leaders at the national and sub-national levels to avail themselves of the services of professional marketers, strategic brand communicators and specialists as spokespersons, the NIMN boss noted that doing so provides such professionals the opportunity to prove their mettles.
“As marketers, we just hope this will be a great opportunity for us to let the world know that we can do it. I will echo the keynote speaker’s word that a time will come when Mr President, governors will not be carrying journalist as spokesperson, they need professional brand communicators to sit down and craft a strategy that will work in the entire system, and then implement it using the vehicle of the media,” he stated.
Enang stated that one of the aims of the conference was to provide thought leadership into how the nation can be built using marketing and ethics as essential catalysts.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, called on stakeholders to come up with different strategies to strengthen Nigeria’s marketing economy.
