While launching the 58 pages book titled ‘Niche: Navigating the Intricacies of Career Heights Effortlessly,’ the Registrar urged the recipients of the award to continue to build on their existing qualities and knowledge, to make the institution that found them worth proud and for the development of Nigeria.
He said that the university desires good ambassadors and would not hesitate to withdraw its certificate if anyone is found in any act that can tarnish the image of the institution.
In his welcome address, Dr Kunle Awotiku, the CEO of UNIPLAN Integrated Services Limited, said “One of my dreams is to ensure that we create employment in Nigeria, and I am telling you that is what we have been doing for years. We are the ones to make Nigeria better, Let you and I play our part in ensuring that this nation is celebrated.”
Dr. Awotiku, enjoined the recipients of the award to imbibe great qualities that will help in taking Nigeria to the desired level among member countries.
The Guest Speaker, Prof. Mattew Oyeyemi, a dean at the University of Ibadan, extensively discussed the theme, Innovation and Adaptation: The Role of Strategic Planning in Driving Organisational Change, explaining how many organisations can be restructured and made better.
Professor Oyeyemi said many organisations in Nigeria have the potential to do well but without innovative strategies, a lot may not be achieved, adding that a clear and creative company culture is always the first step that will bring about the needed development in Nigeria.
Oyeyemi said with an established team that reinforces this culture, it is possible for the employees to be agile and constantly learn the company roles and operation guidelines.
The University Don also stated further, “Organizational adaptability reflects how quickly organizations can adjust their business processes and improvise themselves to achieve their goals, in short, adaptability is essential for competitive advantage.
“Innovation, the process of bringing about new ideas requires collaboration, ideation, implementation and value creation. Employees who continue to grow contribute significantly to the company’s ongoing innovation and development,” he added.
Prof. Oyeyemi also spoke about the importance of Artificial intelligence in organisational development, saying the gaps it is creating in human minds and critical thinking will further leave a negative mark on society.
He pointed out that workable and successful strategic planning will examine and make informed projections about environmental realities to help an organization anticipate and respond to change by classifying its mission and goals.
