THE weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) failed to hold on Wednesday with no reason offered by the Presidency.
Though President Muhammadu Buhari had indicated before assumption of office that he was not comfortable with the “weekly jamboree,” the meeting had held consistently on Wednesdays in recent months.
Where the president was unavailable to preside over the weekly affair, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had sat in for him.
Osinbajo is presently in Davos, Switzerland, representing the president at this year’s World Economic Forum (WEF).
It was not clear whether the meeting was scheduled for this Wednesday and later cancelled or whether its failure to hold was in line with the president’s disposition to convene it only when there are issues for its consideration.
Even though President was in the Presidential Villa, he had no public engagements on Wednesday.
