THE Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise which commenced nationwide, on Thursday, recorded impressive turn out in Ogun State.
Tribune Online monitored the exercise in Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North and Ifo Council areas of the state.
At the flag-off of the registration held at the Abeokuta South Local Government office of INEC, the Administrative Secretary, Mr Kayode Oladimeji, noted that there are enough materials and adequate manpower to ensure the success of the exercise.
He urged those that have attained the age of 18 to avail themselves of the opportunity while those that have not registered before are advised to do so.
Oladimeji added that the Commission had directed its officials to attend to registrants with any form of complaints.
The administrative secretary said, “We have directed our officials to attend to registrants with any form of complaints. If the letters on the VIN cards are not complete, they have a way of correcting and that is why we are taking the particular of such registrants.
“It is a continuous exercise and most of them are aware that they can keep coming, as the time allows. The turnout been the first day is very impressive.
“We have the presence of security men around and our staff are also fully on ground and there are enough materials.”
A registrant, Mrs Foluso Sowande, commended INEC for the conduct of the exercise. She explained that she successfully registered her name within five minutes.
