TikTok influencer, Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has disclosed that her mother is seriously ill, explaining that the condition is beyond what money can fix and can only be faced with faith and hope.
In a now-viral video on social media, Jarvis said she decided to speak out because she feared that videos of her mother in a vulnerable state could surface online and be used to attack her.
She noted that social media users are often quick to judge without understanding the full situation.
Jarvis stressed that her mother’s illness has reached a stage where financial resources are no longer the solution, adding that she remains deeply grateful for her mother’s sacrifices and strength while raising her children alone.
She said, “So my mom is actually sick. Why I’m saying this is that online is crazy. Tomorrow, they might video her in her condition and try to use it against me.
“That’s the one thing I’ve been scared of, that nobody should find out that my mom is not well, and they should not come and speak against me on social media. Because social media will always say, ‘oh why didn’t you take care of her? You have all the money, you have everything.’ But the thing is that at this point money can’t solve it. It’s just God, faith, belief. I love my mom and she tried. She tried, like she tried.”

She also reflected on the absence of her father, whom she said had limited contact during her early childhood before communication stopped completely, leaving her to search for answers years later.
According to her, efforts to reconnect have included travelling to Senegal, as she continues to try to trace her father while navigating her family’s ongoing challenges.
“She fought, she defended us without no father figure. Now this father figure is what I still don’t understand today. From the beginning of birth, he used to call because he’s an outsider from Senegal.
“He used to call, he calls me Aminata, and I just giggle. You know, I’m just a little child, we don’t communicate too much. But it got to a year when the whole line like stopped communication.
“Till today I haven’t heard. I’m the one searching. I’ve gone to Senegal, I’m still trying my best.”
