The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday, prayed for the restoration of the nation following the United States visa restrictions placed on Nigerians.

Adeboye made this call at the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service which was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God National Headquarters, Ebute Meta, Lagos State.

Adeboye said: “Some countries have banned Nigerians from coming into their territories. We pray for the restoration of our nation. Lord, have mercy on Nigeria. Let there be peace and security in Nigeria. God sees all things and knows where the terrorists are hiding. We pray that God sends His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country.”

He added that: “It is written that if my people who are called by my name can humble themselves and call on me, I will heal their land,” making reference to the biblical book of 2nd Chronicles 7:14.

Adeboye also led the members of the church on a prayer walk in accordance with the directive of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

Recall that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had declared a three-day fasting and prayer beginning January 31st to empower the government and the military forces in the fight against terrorism and the spate of killings in the country. The CAN President, Dr Samson Ayokunle, had said the spiritual exercise would end today February 2 with a prayer walk.

According to a statement by the public relations of the church, the prayer walk was held to usher in a new dawn in Nigeria and also save the nation from being consumed by terrorists.

“Today, Sunday, 2nd of February, 2020, members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God led by her General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, embarked on a prayer walk that will usher in a new dawn in our dear country, Nigeria.

“The prayer walk was aimed at offering prayers and supplications unto God to save Nigeria from being consumed by insurgents, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, militants and ritualists in all our states.

“Furthermore, we declared that Jesus who is the Prince of Peace is our Lord and King. We carried and displayed several placards saying ‘No’ to further killings and demanding that the Federal and State governments should rise up to their civic responsibility of securing the lives and properties of her citizens.

“In addition to this, we suggest that the security infrastructure in our nation be overhauled and improved drastically.

“It is our prayer and burning desire that peace will reign in our land. It is our heart-cry that our current security challenges will be a thing of the past.”
