Shine Bridge Global (SBG), a U.S.-headquartered food science and agribusiness firm, has announced plans to deepen its footprint in Nigeria’s food processing sector with the rollout of three cassava-based premixes and the establishment of a processing hub in Ogun State.
The company, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Tony Bello, said it had perfected the development of RootiFufu (instant fufu, amala style), RootiBake (baked goods premix), and RootiSnacks (snacks premix), which will serve Nigeria’s food service and retail markets.
Following a board resolution on September 13, 2025, SBG said it would continue limited co-manufacturing of its Rooti brands in Germany for immediate market readiness but would fully scale operations in Nigeria through a state-of-the-art food processing hub at the ARISE IIP Shagamu-Iperi Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) in Ogun State.
According to the company, the investment is designed to reduce logistics and blending costs, create local value by driving cassava industrialization, and support job creation. SBG is partnering with Value Ingredients Limited (VIL), Graceco, and Spectra Ingredients for downstream packaging and distribution, ahead of a planned market test launch of Rooti brands by Christmas 2025.
“Shine Bridge Global is committed to creating high-quality, affordable, and culturally relevant cassava-based food products for Nigerian and global consumers. By investing directly in Nigeria’s SAPZ ecosystem, we are not only saving costs but also creating long-term value for local communities, investors, and the entire cassava value chain”, Bello said.
The SBG Food Processing Hub is expected to provide scalable capacity for Rooti brands and expand into multi-product processing, including cassava, soybeans, and specialty foods, serving both domestic and export markets.
SBG, through its Cassava Kingdom Movement, has been mobilizing diaspora-led capital, talent, and technology to industrialize food systems across Africa.
