Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on Tuesday witnessed the swearing-in of his son, Osborn Nweze Umahi, as Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Osborn formally assumed office after taking the oath of office at a ceremony attended by political leaders, government officials and other dignitaries.

His inauguration followed his victory in the local government election, marking the official commencement of his tenure as chairman.

At 28, Umahi Osborn is among the younger political office holders attracting attention in Ebonyi.

His emergence has also drawn interest because of his relationship with the former Ebonyi State governor and serving Minister of Works.

Beyond the family connection, attention is now expected to focus on how the new council chairman will tackle development challenges in Ohaozara, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, infrastructure and public services.
