Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has announced that its 2024/2025 Matriculation Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 9 April 2025, at the institution’s Convocation Square, Main Campus.
According to a statement from the university’s Directorate of Information and Public Relations, preparations by the Ceremonies Committee are in full swing to ensure a successful and colourful event.
UDUS, which offers 82 academic programmes across 18 schools, colleges, and faculties, expects all newly admitted undergraduate (UG1, UG11) and postgraduate students to attend the matriculation ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bashir Garba, along with the Dean of Students’ Affairs, scholars, and representatives of the Students’ Union, will address the students during the event.
Additionally, the newly admitted students will undergo an orientation programme at the university’s permanent site. During the session, eminent academics and professionals will guide the students on university rules, regulations, and operational procedures. The orientation is designed to help students integrate smoothly into academic life and achieve success in their studies.
Professor Garba, on behalf of the university Senate, extended a cordial invitation to staff, students, and the general public to attend the ceremony.
