Two women abducted by Boko Haram insurgents as they attack Geidam

TWO women, a mother and daughter have allegedly been abducted by Boko Haram insurgents when they ransacked Geidam, razing down several homes in the town.

Sources told the tribuneonline that at least two corpses with one in military fatigue were seen by troops while they continued their cordon and search duties Thursday morning.

Several others escaped with bullet wounds since the insurgents were shooting randomly when they took siege of this vital town before the arrival of the airforce.

The attack according to military sources started at about 1700 hours lasted until about 2100 hours when the airforce came in with support which brought down the resistance of the enemy who in turn fled.

“After pounding the insurgents, by the airforce, calm returned in the wee hours of the night causing some of the people who escaped to stage a come back to their homes,” said another source.

Geidam the council area of Governor Ibrahim Geidam was first attacked in 2015 and restored for internally displaced people to go home before this new episode.
