…as Council set to confer President with award of excellence
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to unveil the National Environmental Health Practice Regulations (NEHPR), 2025, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) announced at the weekend that the President at the event will be conferred with the Council’s Awards as the highest promoter of environmental health in Nigeria.
EHCON, in a statement, stated that “the president’s investiture with the award will highlight the Maiden National Environmental Health Excellence Award (NEHEA) scheduled for Tuesday, 18th February 2025, at the Banquet Hall, State House, Asokoro, Abuja.
“The awards recognize the contributions of both public and private sector operators and other stakeholders to the delivery of Environmental Health practice and services in Nigeria,”
The statement explained that also at the event, the premises-based National Green House Gases (GHGs) Emission Monitoring Programme (NGHGEMP) will be launched.
EHCON stated that categories of the awards include Highest Prestigious Award, National Legislators Award, Ministerial Award, Governors’ Award Royal Fathers Award, Public Officers Award, Private Sector Award, Corporate Entity Award, Supporting Institutions/Development Partner Award and Distinguished Environmental Health Practitioner Award.
The Council is the body responsible for the regulation of Environmental Health in the country.
