Three male adults have been recovered as a gas explosion rocked Mushin, Lagos on Tuesday.
The incident, which broke out at 21, Ojekunle Street, Ladipo, Mushin, Lagos, trapped many people. Already, rescue and recovery operations are still ongoing at the scene.
According to the Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, the agency is currently attending to the gas explosion.
She stated that the gas incident was reported at 08:42 hours Tuesday morning via the state emergency reporting platform and was swiftly responded to by a combination of the state first and secondary responders.
On arrival at the scene, she explained in a statement that it was discovered that “it is an open space used for several activities including a beer parlour, mechanic workshop, spare parts sale and gas shop amongst others while housing a makeshift structure.”
“Three male adults had been recovered as rescue and recovery operations continue in an environment isolated from causing any further secondary incident,” she said.
She did not mention whether the three adults recovered still alive or dead.
According to her, preliminary investigations to establish the fact of the incident has continued, adding that further discovery will be made public.
