THE Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Warri Federal Constituency, Chief Monday Keme, in the forthcoming General Elections has cried out over alleged plot by some failed elements to substitute his name with that of a sitting House of Representatives member in Warri.
Chief Keme, at a press briefing in Warri Delta State Saturday, warned against the surreptitious plot to rob him of the mandate duly given to him by the people of his constituency to represent them at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
He maintained that he remained the authentic flagbearer of the SPD, having purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms and duly given the mandate by the party.

He advised the general public as well as his teeming supporters to ignore anyone parading himself or herself as the SDP flagbearer as, according to him, such person was an impostor.
The Ogbe-Ijoh-born Chief, who said he was still very much in the race, reiterated that he followed due process and having met his party’s requirements, he was returned unopposed and issued a clearance Certificate.
“On September 28th, 2018, I appeared before the party’s Screening Committee in Asaba and was screened and issued Certificate as the only candidate for the party in Warri Federal Constituency,” he recollected.
He said he was, however surprised that one Amoma Harold Sylvester, a proxy he alleged was unknown to members of his party, was the name displayed at the INEC’s office in Warri South.
Corroborating his claim, the State Organizing Secretary of SDP, Mr Ogisi Matthew, who averred he was part of those who screened Chief Keme, said no other person bought the party’s form for the said position.
The claim was also supported by SDP’s State Treasurer, Tabu Obriki, who was also present at the press briefing.
Keme said the failed character now parading himself as candidate of the SDP actually contested and lost in his party’s primaries which held the same day the SDP held its primaries.
Chief Keme, however, expressed confidence in the leadership of the party to do the needful by upholding truth and justice.
“The party has given me assurances that what INEC has released was the provisional list and that the final list will be released on the 17th of January , 2018.
“I have absolute confidence in the leadership of the SDP, Chief Olu Falae, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, Alhaji Shehu Garba and others who are men of proven integrity and cannot fall to the antics of bad losers who want to reap where they did not sow,” he concluded.
