LESS than ninety days to the governorship election, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressives Congress ( APC )and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are now trading words on each other in Nasarawa State.
The dispute which began when Mr Labaran Maku, the APGA candidate recently accused the ruling APC of blackmailing his candidature of alleged involvement in the sponsorship of Ombatse cult group that killed over 70 security operatives, all in attempt to tarnish his image and ambition.
Also suspecting the APC for sponsoring writers in their criticism alleged that the APGA in the state does not have the structure to win a governorship seat of the state.
Similarly, the PDP governorship candidate, Hon David Unbugadu has also taken to media war to accused Mr Maku of not being grateful to the party that offered him(Maku) the political opportunities he attained various levels he is proud today.

Umbugadu further stated ” if he has respect for PDP and the people of Nasarawa State, then APGA is not an option, even the Igbo man in Anambra state will tell you that politics is local, and what everybody is speaking, if Maku APGA is an option how come that not even single councillor had he produced. Governance is not about talking, governance is about to impact, that is the truth, he is my father and brother but let the truth be said.
” You can’t run a state alone, if it is possible, then I will recommend Independent Candidate as far as we are concerned if it is possible,” he said.
He also faulted APGA slogan ” enough is enough ” which according to him, suggest violence at the time that the state is peaceful and united, preparing to go pool, he urged Maku to support him emerge victoriously.
The former minister of information while responding said all the allegations and criticisms does not require his reaction because they are baseless.
“The critics are frustrated because they are have discovered that APGA is everywhere in the state as the cocks are crowing every day,” he added.
Maku who believe he will win the forthcoming governorship election because the signs are every where warned that rigging of election by any political party may not be business as usual.
He, however, called on his supporters, not to be distracted over mischievous utterances by the opposition who are already frustrated and have resolved into malignity and character assassination when they already know their fate.
Maku insisted that his political slogan was coined out if the fact that the people in the state are tired of killings, percentage payment of salary and suffering in the midst of plenty.
With the way things are going, supporters of the three parties are now in a strong war of words especially among the Eggon native where Maku and Umbugadu come from. And nobody knows what the future may hold for them, and how the dispute would end.
