The remains of the lawmaker representing Akure South/North Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedayo Omolafe were laid to rest on Friday in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The burial service which took place at St. David’s Anglican Cathedral Akure was witnessed by the late lawmaker political associates, community and religious leaders, families and friends from all walks of life to bid him farewell.
In his sermon, Bishop of Akure Anglican diocese, Right Revd. Simeon Borokini, described Omolafe as a man loved by all during his lifetime, saying Omolafe was a loyal, dutiful, caring and down to earth politician loved by all.
Borokini noted that death is inevitable for all humans, said Omolafe’s political ideology cut across all political parties and would be greatly missed by his immediate family.
He called on politicians across parties to emulate the late PDP lawmaker saying his legacies will not be forgotten in a hurry in the state.
Dignitaries that attended the service included Representative of Ondo State Governor and commissioner for justice, Charles Titiloye, Former Deputy Governor, Omolade Oluwateru, Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, Chairman, Ondo State Council of Obas and Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi represented by Chief Joseph Ojo Omoniyi and Bishop of Owo Anglican diocese, Dr Fagbemi
Others include the PDP Chairman in the state, Mr Fatai Adams, APC Acting state Chairman, Chief Ade Adetimehin, House of Reps members, Ikengboju Gboluga, Timehin Adelegbe, former governor’s wife, Olukemi Mimiko among others.
Omolafe popularly known as Expensive who was until his death was a member of PDP and a former chairman of Akure South council area of Ondo state, died in the early hours of August 16 at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owo, Ondo state.
