TODAY, across the length and breadth of the world, no religious organisation captures the urge and divine mandate like the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, in building a fractured world. With a humanity that is overtaken by hate, distress and a consuming desire to exterminate itself, humanity today has sunken deeper into extremities of self-annihilation contrary to the design of God. Despite this grim reality, a ray of hope beckons on a splintered world to harness its God-given potential and to build a human race that is after God’s own heart. Remarkably, the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) led by God’s own general, Prophet T.B. Joshua has taken the front seat in championing a redemption message, with Jesus Christ at its centre, in uniting a lost humanity to its Maker. Little wonder that daily, millions of people in search of meaning, purpose and God, as seen across the world, connect to the globally sought televangelist, T.B. Joshua, through the platform of the Emmanuel T.V.
The most recent of his peace-building mission was his visit to the once crises-ridden nation of South Sudan in November, this year. For citizens of South Sudan, the visit signposted a most refreshing time and a pointer to stability. While addressing the crowd of citizens, leaders and opinion shapers, Prophet Joshua stated that “I am here to deliver God’s message. I pray that God gives all the political stakeholders in this country discretion that will guard their hearts to obey this message, in Jesus’ name. Time has come for us to put our differences behind us. Who can fight with the Lord? “If I am a prophet, this will not go without fulfilment. Take your pen and write. I am here to prophesy to the nation. I am not coming here to preach or to teach. If I am a prophet, this will not go without fulfilment. Time has come. The issue of this nation is spiritual. We need to tackle it spiritually. Time has come – I repeat – for us to put our differences behind us. Our leaders, we should overcome our divisions and agree to work together – for the good of this country.
“Peace has no price. To show peace has no price, when I was preparing to come to South Sudan, my operator could not find an international insurance company to cover our trip to South Sudan – because of the situation of the nation. The operator recommended that the plane should be parked in Ethiopia or Kenya. I said why? They said because of the situation of the nation. And this is a country endowed with enormous natural resources. How many investors or tourists would want to go through this?
“We cannot do it alone. As I travelled the world, I have discovered that people from South Sudan are everywhere all over the world. There is no country in this world where you will not find South Sudanese. They are intelligent, hard-working, ambitious people. Our leaders should overcome their divisions and allow them to come back to develop their fatherland. We should overcome our divisions. You cannot stand in the way of the Lord. He owns man’s heart and He can instruct man at any time. Next month, we talk of December and then the New Year. This country is going to enter a New Year, a new beginning – whether you like it or not, whether I like it or not.” For Prophet Joshua, no price is too much to be paid in establishing peace in any part of the world. His humanitarian efforts cut across race, gender, ethnicity and color. Time and time again, Prophet Joshua has taken God’s message of hope to the continents of the world: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.
It has been reportedly estimated that Prophet Joshua has spent over $500 million on education, healthcare and rehabilitation programs for many people across the world who visit SCOAN in search of meaning and help. Millions have received aid unreported and have had their lives transformed. The SCOAN’s scholarship program remarkably caters to the academic needs of students in their millions across the world. This program oscillates from primary to tertiary education. With a world ravaged constantly by both natural and human-inflicted disasters, Prophet Joshua has sent support to nations such as Haiti, Philippines, India, Ghana, the United States of America and many others in the wake of varying natural disasters. The Emmanuel TV Team has not relented in these efforts.
Several groups of Nigerians attempting illegal travel to Europe through Libya have been supported at The SCOAN following their deportation from the North African nation with only the clothes on their backs. Stories of the harsh conditions they encountered and Prophet Joshua’s subsequent assistance made headlines in many local and foreign newspapers. The cleric has also continued to play prominent roles in reconciling broken homes, restoring families torn apart by false accusations and building nations fractured by hate. Despite the growing criticism and hate against his ministry, Prophet Joshua maintains that “What makes us human is not our ability to think but our ability to love one another. To love one another irrespective of race or religion, for love comes from God. If you love many people but there are those you do not love because they hate you, then your love is as nothing; the more you love God, the more you love your neighbour. God measures our lives by our love for Him and for our neighbour. Anyone who does not love his neighbour, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. Love for fellow man breaks down all barriers.”
