Comrade Kallamu Mahmud, Chairman Taraba State chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has urged its members to support the administration of Governor Darius Ishaku for it to succeed.
Mahmud made the call on Tuesday in an interview in Bali local government area of the state.
The union leader said that the prompt and up-to-date payment of salaries to local government workers was a demonstration that the governor cares for workers.
He urged the members to reciprocate by showing commitment to duty.
“I congratulate all members of the union as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir and urge everyone to embrace love, peace and tolerance as the main symbol of Islam.

“I also appeal to the entire NULGE members in the state to support the administration of his Excellency, Architect Darius Ishaku to achieve his goal of a rescue mission in the state.
“We commend him for his prompt and being up-to-date in the payment of workers salaries in the state.
“He is one of few governors in Nigeria today that do not have issues with workers salaries, we give him kudos for that.
“I call on our members to reciprocate this gesture by showing commitment to work as the administration has demonstrated its care and passion for workers,” He said.
Mahmud also commended the state government for coordinating various security agencies in the state to ensuring a drastic reduction in crime in the state.
According to him, kidnapping that had been a major security threat has been depleted to the barest minimum in the state.
He, however, expressed concern over the spate of communal crisis in the southern part of the state which has claimed many lives and wanton destruction of property.
He said that the situation has affected members of the NULGE adversely.
The chairman, who did not mention the number of his members that had fallen victims, called on both state and Federal governments to proffer lasting solution to inter-ethnic clashes in the southern part of the state.
He also appealed to the warring factions to eschew bitterness and embrace peace and love for the development of their communities.
