Senator Danjuma Goje’s daughter resigns from Gombe governor’s govt

The political supremacy between the Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and his erstwhile political godfather, former Governor Danjuma Goje, has claimed its first victim as Goje’s daughter, Dr Hussaina Danjuma Goje, has resigned as a commissioner in the state.

Her resignation came on Saturday barely 24 hours after her father was reportedly embarrassed, molested and denied entry into Gombe by suspected political thugs.

Dr Hussaina Goje was, before her resignation, the Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources in the state.

It is believed that the development is not unconnected with the attack on Senator Goje’s convoy on Friday by suspected political thugs who blocked the convoy soon after he landed at the Gombe Airport at Lawanti.

In a letter dated 6th November content of which she read in Hausa language on video and posted on the various social media platforms and made available to journalists in Gombe, Hussaina Goje stated that her resignation was based on personal reasons.

The letter read: “Today on November 6, 2021, I wish to inform the general public and media organisations that I, Dr. Hussaina Goje, have tendered my resignation as the Commissioner of Environment and Forest Resources to His Excellency, Executive Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, effective from today.

“I also wish to inform the general public that my resignation was based on personal reasons. I wish to show my appreciation for the opportunity given to me by His Excellency, the Executive Governor, to serve as a member of his executive council in this administration.”
