Enwenzo made the call during yesterday’s plenary session in Awka, he said that the people of the two Councils Area, have kept their records, and have regularly in the past dutifully reported several harassments of Women in their farms, destruction of farmlands and general intimidation by invading Fulani herdsmen to the Federal Government, the Police and other security agencies.
The Legal Practitioner said the Anambra West and Ayemelum LGAs lands are fertile and the constituencies are peaceful. This matter must be on the front burner and we call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to come to our aid.
”These invasions by the said Fulani herdsmen and their criminal activities in our land cannot push us out of our God’s given and
sacred land, he said.
When asked on the serial killings in Benue, Taraba and Nassarawa States by the Fulani Herdsmen, the Lawmaker, said President Muhammadu Buhari should as a matter of urgency deploy well train, equipped and sufficient security personnel in the affected areas to forestall any re-occurrence of these ungodly attacks and for once arrest and bring perpetrators to justice.
Also, demand that the Federal Government should declare Fulani herdsmen perpetrating violence against farmers across the country as terrorists and treat them as such.
He also called on the global community to help guarantee the lives of Nigerians in the hands of the Breeders, lawmaker pointed out that their right to life is guaranteed under the Nigerian law and universal charter of human rights.
