Retired staff of Premier hotel and Odu’a Investment, Ibadan, on Monday, protested unpaid cooperative deduction to the tune of about N19 million.
The protest saw the retired staff block the entry and exit of Premier hotel, hampering the free flow of traffic for both staff of the hotel and road users.
One of the protesters, Mr Olaniyi Afolabi, expressed dissatisfaction that his daily life had been affected by the nonpayment.
He noted that the issue of unpaid cooperative deduction dated back to 2018.
Another staff of the hotel, Emmanuel Arire, bemoaned that the protest hampered their performance of their daily activities.
After hours, the management of the Odua investment company through Mr Ajayi Hassan pleaded with the protesters, assuring that their grievances will be addressed.
He said a meeting is to be held before the end of the day where the request of the retired staff will be attended to.
