Renewed Hope Agenda is working — Wike

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has stated that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu is working and benefiting the people.

The minister made this disclosure while addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, during a routine inspection of key road infrastructure projects scheduled for commissioning in May as part of the President’s second anniversary in office.

The minister affirmed that the projects align with the Renewed Hope Agenda and are beneficial to residents. He said, “We are happy that these projects will be part of the anniversary celebrations for Mr. President. Providing updates on several key road projects inspected, including the OSEX left-hand service carriageway, the N20 (Wole Soyinka Way) interchange, and the full scope development of the Arterial Road N5 from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III, the minister expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and reiterated the commitment of the FCT Administration to meet its obligations for timely completion.

“Generally, we are pleased with the quality of work being carried out by all the contractors. On our part, we will do everything possible to fulfill our obligations so they will not have any excuses for failing to meet theirs,” the minister stated.

Responding to a question about the costs of the projects, Barr. Wike said that the financial details would be provided during an account of stewardship. He also disclosed that the National Assembly had approved the virement of approximately N10 billion for the N5 road project, expressing confidence that the funds would be used effectively before the expiration of the 2024 budget.
