Wife of the Delta State Governor and founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Tobore Oborevwori has called on Christians to remain dedicated to God regardless of their political roles.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new chapel within the Isoko North Local Government Area secretariat on Wednesday, Deaconess Oborevwori emphasised the importance of maintaining spiritual commitments.
The chapel, constructed under the leadership of the council chairman, Deacon Christian Iteire, was praised by Deaconess Oborevwori for its significance as a place of worship.
She highlighted that such a project serves as a vital reminder of Christians’ responsibilities in God’s house, regardless of their societal positions.
“Today, we celebrate the expansion of God’s Kingdom. The Church is a place where people of all backgrounds come together to seek God’s guidance and solutions to their problems, and to fellowship among believers,” she said. “This project calls us to remember our duties in God’s house. Let this not be business as usual. This is the house of the living God. As you serve here, you will witness His wonders in Jesus’ name.”
Deaconess Oborevwori stressed the need for sincerity and faithfulness in serving God, especially during challenging times in the nation. She urged that political positions should not distract from spiritual commitments, emphasizing the many benefits of serving God.
Renaming the chapel to Trinity Chapel, Deaconess Oborevwori declared it a “mountain of solution,” a place where sorrows turn to joy, questions find answers, the sick are healed, the oppressed are delivered, and peace prevails. She expressed her prayer that the chapel would be a place of continuous testimonies.
In his remarks, Deacon Iteire shared that the chapel was built to provide a worship space for the Local Government Council officials and staff, as well as for hosting other Christian gatherings. He acknowledged Deaconess Oborevwori’s significant role as a prayer warrior and a pillar of both moral and spiritual support for the state.
Deacon Iteire expressed gratitude for the timely completion of the chapel and committed that it would serve the spiritual needs of the people of Isoko North LGA for God’s glory.
The inauguration event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, clergy, and other dignitaries from within and outside the local government area. The ceremony featured songs of praise, prayers, a sermon, the dedication of the altar, and goodwill messages.
