The rainstorms which destroyed properties worth millions of Naira affected some towns which included, Oba Ile, Okitipupa, Igbotako, Ilutitun, Ikoya and Omotoso among others.
Most of the buildings affected by the storm had their roofs blown off while many electric poles were destroyed during the heavy downpour, but no report of death recorded during the storm.
A victim, Mr. Vincent Adeyemi, called for financial and material assistance from the state government and also appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency to come to their aid, saying the rainstorm had rendered many homeless.
He said, “About 50 houses were affected in my community and many of us cant afford to repair those things damaged by the rainstorm, so we are calling on the state and Federal Government to assist us, the loss is much”
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Okitipupa State Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Sola Ebiwonjumi has appealed to the state government to come to the aid of his constituents, saying the rainstorm had rendered the people of his constituency homeless.
Ebiwonjumi disclosed that about 1,000 houses were affected in his constituency and appealed to the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, to quickly come to the aid of his people with relief materials.
