FOR some time now, the executive and the legislature have been relating at cross-purposes over the issue of the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu and the Customs boss.
The president had commendably refused to use the instruments of office to bulldoze his way through by way of lobbying the senators. Today, the president still enjoys the comfort of majority rule.
What is germane here is for the president to act swiftly. He who keeps silent acquiesces. The Senate is a venerated place housed principally by individuals who had made their marks in every facet of human endeavour.
