National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has warned prospective corps members against paying for posting, redeployment and other services including kit items as these are free.
It said kit items and NYSC booklets on security, entrepreneurship among others are issued to Corps Members on arrival at the Orientation Camps at no cost.
This is contained in a statement issued by the NYSC’s Spokesperson, Mr Eddy Megwa on Thursday in Abuja.
The scheme also advised stakeholders to be wary of some persons using online platforms to defraud the unsuspecting Members of the public by advertising NYSC kits that the Scheme gives Corps to Members in Camp.
Similarly, it said efforts are ongoing with the security agencies to apprehend and prosecute anyone found culpable.
Meanwhile, as the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course commences, prospective Corps Members are instructed not to embark on night journey while going to their respective Orientation Camps.
“The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed wishes all the Prospective Corps Members and Camp Officials a safe trip to camp, and a successful 2024 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course,” it said.
