I want to report the bad electricity supply threatening the safety and well-being of people in my area, Aba Ife along Asunle Arapaja, Ibadan.
My area has been facing low voltage, faulty cables and flickering electricity supply which has cost us much. We have recorded so many damages: chargers and other appliances have been damaged. Imagine buying new charger today and it gets spoilt that day!
There is a trader in my community that keeps replacing a particular piece of equipment she uses for more than five times. She did not notice that the electricity supply was the cause. She kept thinking the fault was from the company that she bought it from.
There is even potential loss of life because of the risk of increased fires from sparks, especially for children and elders.
The transformer serves more than one community. Now, the people from the other community think my community is the main problem since the transformer in the area is not strong enough for about six communities that depend on it. So we blame each other whenever damage occurs.
While I urge communities to join hands and sort things out with each other, there is the need for infrastructure upgrading in the community, including transformers and power lines. This will improve power distribution to all areas and improve our living condition.
