Nigeria Police, Gombe State Command, has launched investigations into the circumstances leading to the gruesome murder of 58 years old woman, Aishatu Abdullahi.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Operations Department, Gombe State Command, Hayatu Usman, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police Gombe State Command, ordered the ACP, CID to personally investigate the murder.
Reports have it that Aishatu Abdullahi, a 58-year-old woman was alleged to have been gruesomely slaughtered by unknown persons on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The perpetrators are said to have stormed Aishatu Abdullahi’s residence at Jeka da Fari Quarters in Gombe metropolis at approximately 21:45hrs, slaughtered her before fleeing with her mobile handset.
On receipt of the information, Police operatives moved to the scene where Aishatu Abdullahi was found in a pool of blood and was immediately rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Gombe, where she was sadly pronounced dead.
The Gombe State Police Command expressed shock and dismay at the heinous crime and has pledged to do everything in its power to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Command extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of Aishatu Abdullahi and assured the public that it is doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice.
The Command PPRO, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, in a statement stated that, “We urge anyone with information that could lead us in our investigation to come forward and give us the information.”
The Command urged residents to remain calm and vigilant and to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the Police for prompt action.
The Command is also encouraging members of the public to cooperate fully with the Police as they carry out their investigation, stressing that “without the support, we may not get to the roots of these problems because some of these criminals are from within the community being terrorized.
“We are committed to maintaining law and order in the State and will not rest until those responsible for this senseless act of violence are brought to justice,” the PPRO stated.
The Command also that, “Finally, the Command wishes to remind the general public that the movement restriction earlier imposed, is still in place and also the Okada and Keke NAPEP riders are encouraged to help the Police with information. Anybody who violates this order will face the full wrath of the law.
