THE Police Council has confirmed Mohammed Adamu as the substantive Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari meet at the presidential villa, Abuja with state governors in attendance.

His confirmation followed a recommendation by the president to the council.
Adamu told State Correspondents after his confirmation, saying that the police and other security agencies will re-strategise to surmount the security situation in the country.
