Nigeria’s Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Thursday, paid a visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The singer, alongside some of the team visited the minister at his office in Abuja.
Disclosing this through his personal X-account, the Minister described Davido as Nigeria’s musical ambassador whose works have continued to put Nigeria’s cultural richness and talent on a global stage.
“I welcomed renowned afrobeat artiste David Adeleke, widely recognized as @davido, yesterday.
“Davido, through his music, has continued to exemplify Nigeria’s cultural richness and talent on the global stage, and we are proud of him,” Tunji-Ojo wrote.
Recall that the multiple award-winning artiste, alongside some other Nigerian Afrobeats superstars, received three nominations for 2024 Grammy Awards held recently.
While his song, ‘Feel’ got nominated for the Best Global Music Performance category, ‘Unavailable’ was nominated for Best African Music Performance and ‘Timeless’ nominated for the Album of the Year category.
However, the singer lost all the three categories, losing Best African Music Performance category to South African singer, Tyla.
