You seem so confident that you will emerge victorious in the election. What is the source of this confidence?
It is the yearning of the people that I represent them based on what I have done for them even when I am not a National Assembly member. Being a member of the House of Assembly, you should be able to have a caring impact in the lives of your people and you should be able to contribute and make laws. You should be able to associate with people that matter to attract the dividend of democracy to people of your area. As a legislature, youths should know that the mandate given to you by the people are not to go there for drinking. As a member of House of Assembly you should be able to place your educational qualification and not someone who do not have relationship with the people.
Buhari government place things according to the Federal Government character commission so it is about you moving round to do the needful, it is not about you coming down buying drinks for the people; we have to stop that. There are too many cases of kidney problems, heart problem and others caused by the free drinks.
You were said to have bought Hilux buses for those that lost their own during the APC Ebonyi Central Senatorial Primaries at Onueke even when it was not just your election. How true is that?
Yes, irrespective that the election was a senatorial election and not just my own. You know the people affected are my people and I should join to feel their pains because those vehicles burnt are their source of livelihood. If we deprive them that, what prayer would I have been praying to God, I am more privileged than them and that is why is not good for me to be happy why they are all crying. That is why we are doing everything possible to help them get new vehicles to be feeding their families.
It is said that some of the victims that survived the gun shot still have the bullet in their bodies; do you have any plans to help them?
Those who survived the gun shots were taken to the hospital and those who still have the bullet inside them shall be taken to another hospital were the bullets will be removed for them to live their normal live. As I speak, only one person is still at the hospital awaiting discharge.
What do you except from other politicians for more developmental growth?
I regret that no skills acquisition center is working in the state. So, I urge politician to always engage in all that will have positive impact in peoples’ lives. Those you give jobs, how many of them are using it to help others. You talk of roads, how many of the roads are sustained by the strength of our people so community identification of their needs is very necessary. Youths are the future of tomorrow, we must continue to put food on their table through good leadership in the sense that they will know that tomorrow is their own turn.
We need to show them what leadership is all about and the things that will give them the potential of their future as leaders of tomorrow.
What difference will you make when you win the race?
I will not be a National Assembly member that will continue to encourage our people to continue drinking, we don’t want it again, all we want to encourage our people is for them to be useful and contribute their quota to the developing of our nation, our state, and their constituency.
If I win, we are going to create a channel for those doing small scale business in the rural areas and we shall give money to them to improve in their businesses, create people that will monitor them to ensure the money given to them will create a better impact to their lives. If I am elected, I should be able to identify with the community to know exactly what they want and by so doing, they will jealously guide and protect it because it is what they truly need.
How possible do you think APC win in this state when they are not together and united?
APC is one; we urge those who are aggrieved to come together if truly they have APC at heart. Not those who are desperate and creating scandals. If you have passion for the people, you should contribute your own quota .So I urge all APC members to join hands with the president and do what is needful and support those who made it for the benefit of all.
How can you say you are one with the crisis that followed the primaries?
Well that experience was terrible, I will advise my people and other political parties in this forthcoming general election to allow the electorate elect their sole candidate than taking the lives of its citizens when you see that you are not the candidate of the people. I am calling on every politician to learn how to do politics without rankle rather we should allow our people to elect the candidate of their choice than going to kill people so I believe that those that killed the innocent people should be investigated and charge to the court.
Is as if the problem of the APC is not just Ebonyi state but the entire country could it be said is as a result of bad leadership of the National Chairman?
Oshiomole is still the chairman of APC, forget the rumors because when you have a good tree that produces fruits, they must throw stone at it. So I tell you all those things are stone, Oshiomole is doing perfectly well everybody cannot not be happy but all these problems during the primaries is not caused by Oshiomole it is caused by the people that went to conduct the election primaries. We should stop blaming the man, since his assumption of office; he has not failed any election; that is the paramount thing. All we need to say is for him to include everybody. So I am telling you that there is no crack in APC we are going to win the election and President Muhammadu Buhari will win 100 per cent.
What message do you have for the security chiefs?
We commend the police, DSS and other security agencies for intervening and arresting some of the gangs though some are still at large, we plead with them to ensure that justice is brought to people who lost their lives and owners of the burnt cars because that is not the way we should be doing our politics.
