LESS than 24-hours to his former public declaration for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and would be received into the fold by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at a ceremony slated for Agege Stadium, Chairman, Lagos chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Moshood Salvador declared on Friday that his former party is now dead in the state, urging members to accept the reality in good faith.
Salvador said this at an interactive session with journalists at his residence in Surulere, declaring that with his exit from PDP, where about 60 per cent of members he brought on board, including several ward chairmen and officers would be moving with him, PDP should accept the fact that it was dead and, therefore, did not have any stake in Lagos again.
“Well, as for tomorrow (declaration), my advice to the party which I am leaving is to accept their fate that they don’t have any stake in Lagos again, PDP is dead in Lagos, I can assure you PDP is dead in Lagos,” he said.

According Salvador, who said he invested a lot of resources in the party to build strong membership strength to enable it win the 2019 election in the state but some forces were quite not appreciative of such efforts but their focus was about seeing the PDP become victorious, it is just for the party to do a rethink, strategise and look for better leadership which reasonable persons could work with.
He said anything short of this would make the PDP considered by some few people as “unserious” remain irrelevant in Lagos.
“It is just for them to accept their fate and they should rethink, go back and strategise and go back and look for better leadership which a reasonable person can work with, anything short of that they will remain irrelevant in Lagos. People are looking at PDP as an unserious party in Lagos.
“Well, a party that you are having about 40-45 per cent of its structure going with the state chairman, you will see this tomorrow, ward chairmen, ward officers from local governments, you will see them tomorrow.
“You don’t know what that means, people might not know that that kills a party. Majority of members, over 60 per cent of people I brought in, they are going with me,” he said.
