State Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari gave the advice Sunday during the opening ceremony of a one-day workshop organized by the party for its social media groups in the state on how to use the platforms for campaigns ahead of the 2019 elections, held at its secretariat in Bauchi.
Yayanuwa Zainabari opined that character assassination against opponents aspiring same positions would not augur well for the party but would only cause animosity among the aspirants and their supporters.
He further said that in consideration of the significance of the social media as campaigns tool, the party deemed it necessary to train its team so that they could make the best use of it ahead of next election.

Also speaking, a facilitator at the workshop and communication expert, Alhaji Maigari Mohammed Khanna advised members of the party to always verify their facts before publishing them on social media to avoid misleading their supporters and losing their credibility from electorates.
The communication expert recommended that rather than engaging in defamation of character, name calling and blackmail, the party propagandists should discuss the effects of the policies and actions of the government in power to convince voters.
Responding on behalf of other participants of the training, Musa Zango thanked the party for organizing the training calling on it to employ a legal adviser that would be guiding the activities of the social media team to evade flaws.
