A group, Oke-Ogun for Development, has commended the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, for being a worthy ambassador of the Oke-Ogun geo-political zone of Oyo State.
The group coordinator, Alhaji Nasir Ogede Ayinde, while speaking on behalf of the group, said the major aim of the group is to appreciate sons and daughters from the zone who have one way or the other distinguished themselves in their chosen fields, of which Ogunesan is one of them.
Ayinde, noted that though a lot of negative comments have been passed about her most especially in the media, He said the group thought it worthwhile to come out and let the whole world know that those behind these negative comments are doing so to smear her image due to selfish reasons.
“As far as our group is concerned, Ogunesan has proved beyond reasonable doubt that she is a worthy ambassador of Oke-Ogun with her dedication and loyalty in the discharge of her duties.
“She is among the very few women in Oke-Ogun who rose through the ranks to become a Permanent Secretary in the civil service. We must not also fail to commend her for her contribution to the development of man power in Oyo State, particularly in Oke-Ogun.”
He further stressed that: “We will no longer fold our arms to some politicians who have the intention of downgrading one of our own in the person of Ogunesan, who is a respecter of all religion with an understanding of the secular nature of Oke-Ogun.
“We therefore, urge all and sundry in Oke-Ogun to rally support for her at all time considering her immense contributions to the development of Oke-ogun.”
