Oyetola “ll strengthen, compliment Aregbesola’s poverty eradication projects — Okanlawon

OkanlawonTHE Special Adviser to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun on Information and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, on Monday assured that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 22 gubernatorial poll, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola would complement the ongoing poverty eradication projects of the state government.

He said with his emergence as the party’s flag bearer, the hope of strengthening the poverty reduction scheme of Aregbesola and ensuring its effective implementation for the collective benefits of the masses had already been guaranteed.

Okanlawon, who made these disclosures while addressing members of the APC in Ward 1, Isale Oba in Iwo East Local Council Development Area during the weekly ward meeting said “continuing with the performance indices that the Rauf Aregbesola administration has set in motion is the surest way to put a finishing touch to the poverty eradication project embarked upon eight years ago.”

According to him, “the people of the state and members of the APC particular have greater stakes in presenting a candidate who satisfies all that it takes to move beyond the massive transformations the state had witnessed in eight years.

Okanlawon, who commended the loyalty and steadfastness of the party members, assured them that their efforts would not be in vain, stressing that the leadership of the party appreciated the desire of the Osun West to produce the next governor. The decision of the party is much more supreme than the ambitions of individuals.”

He further stated that “we now have a candidate that will fly the flag of our party. For the state not to derail from the path of development that we have been in the last eight years, it is important for all of us to work for the success of the party. With this huge crowd, I have no doubt that Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has no rival in Ward 1 of Iwo East.

“The good thing is that this is a man who has been at the centre of all the development works that have taken place in this state and so, if you are talking of a seamless transition, our party has got what it takes to proceed without any hitch,” Okanlawon remarked.

Apart from Okanlawon, others who were at the meeting and the roadshow include the chairman of Iwo East LCDA, Hon. Lawal Abiola; immediate past Chairman of the All Progressive Congress in the ward, Alhaji Tajudeen Olowolagba; former Executive Secretary, Iwo East LCDA, Hon. Kehinde Amoo and others.
