Credible sources at the meeting informed TribuneOnline that Fayemi’s surprise visit to Omisore might not be unconnected to the moves by the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), to curry the favour and political influence of the Ife born politician before Thursday rerun election, most especially in Ife South and Ife North local government areas.
The meeting followed a similar one held by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki on Monday with Omisore where undisclosed agreements were reached between the duo on principles.

Though full details of Fayemi’s parley with the former deputy governor of Osun State and erstwhile chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, unconfirmed information available to our correspondent indicated that Fayemi was acting on the instruction of President Muhammadu Buhari to woo Omisore, considering his far-reaching influence among the electorate in Ile-Ife axis.
This development came amid optimism for victory expressed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the rerun election exercise which would hold in about seven units in the four local government areas.
In a press statement signed by the director of publicity, research and strategy of the APC in Osun, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi, which was forwarded to the Nigerian Tribune in Osogbo, the party said nothing can stop its electoral victory in the Thursday’s rerun election exercise.
