An Onitsha-based Gamified Virtual Science Laboratory startup has emerged as a finalist in the Tech Crunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield Context in the United States of America (USA).
Mr. Chinedu, the media officer to the Laboratory Startup Onitsha, who disclosed this to Journalists in a statement in Onitsha on Saturday, said the San Francisco-based Technology Media group, TechCrunch, announced this on their portal.
According to him, Foris Labs was founded by John Onuigbo, a graduate of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, and Kyrian Onyekwelu, an undergraduate studying at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.
“Information gathered from the Media Group website revealed that Foris Labs and 199 others emerged from about 3,000 entries from around the world.
“Foris Labs products simulate a real-life science laboratory environment, enabling students to conduct science experiments either as individuals or in groups via mobile devices or desktops.
They are currently deploying to schools across Anambra State for their Beta testing phase, having successfully conducted close user group testing with Secondary School students.
“We are honoured by this endorsement highlighted by the team at TechCrunch Disrupt’s Startup Battlefield 200.
“It further validates the value of this project and strengthens our resolve.
“At Foris Labs, we are revolutionising science education through technology, making learning more accessible and engaging for students in Africa,” said John Onuigbo, co-founder and CEO of Foris Labs.
